"Worth The Wait"

The sled season has ended. You waxed your sled and put it in its resting place for the summer. Not to far away so you can check on it from time to time but away for now. You start to wait.

The days get hot and long and the weatherman, who was your best friend, is calling for even warmer days ahead. And you wait. You picnic with your family and make due for now, still checking the weather out of habit and the jerk keeps talking of warmer days.

You wait and wait..Then in late August the days are shorter and your mind starts to wonder.... you pull the cover off your sled and crank it up!! Just the smell of the two stroke gets you excited and now you can't wait! So you swing into your dealer to see if any of the new sleds have arrived to check them out, talk it up a little and return home to cover it back up, just to wait some more.

September arrives and the grass races and local swap meets start to happen, your club sends flyers to help with trail work and now things start to look good and the warm weather and the waiting is not so bad. October and November the days get really short your new sled is in the garage and ready to ride.

That jerk, the weatherman, says chance of snow, maybe a couple inches, but it keeps turning to rain, you just want to strangle them. Every night after work you start it up on the stand you almost got a couple miles on it. JUST TWITCHEN to go for a ride. Yet there is still some waiting.

Now early December, Every day you check TC. com to see if anyone has snow. Your best friend ,the weatherman, says flurries tonight with a couple more inches on the ground, and heavy lake affect in New York!! Now the Time has come(Dec 15th in some places) you put your friends together, you traveled to your favorite ride site, unloaded and you take off!!!

It was everything you remembered and more!! The waiting is over !!Yes the season is underway and nothing can stop you now. As you ride, those long hot summer days are long gone!! It was definitely worth the wait!!!

(good one!)
