If you appreciate perfection in grooming, inexpensive food and lodging, and the best people on the planet, you will never ride anywhere else. Please click on the right (in the menu) for a list of snowmobile accommodations in the extraordinary Mauricie region. They are amazing people. Also, feel free to PHONE me in my home any time this winter (2009 -2010) and I can help direct you to the motel or hotel you need.

Quebec Snowmobiling Photo:
President of the Mauricie snowmobile club
and the owner of the Safari Motel, check out
their newest groomer last December. "Keeping
our trails properly groomed is a responsibility
we don't take lightly" said the President.
Last winter, the Mauricie Region received over ten feet of snow,
a new record snowfall. It was an amazing year. This is a photo
of downtown Shawinigan in Late December 2007. We can only hope
for half as much snow this winter. We are ready with of trail
grooming equipment, to turn all our Mauricie snowmobile trails
into white carpets once again!
Welcome
to the Mauricie Region in Quebec
One thing that all Americans and
Canadians can agree on, is that snowmobiling is fun, and
a great family past time in winter. The Maurice snowmobile
region of Quebec invites you this winter, to experience
some of the most unique landscapes in the province, and hundreds
of miles of groomed snowmobile trails to enjoy.
It all begins about an hour north
of the border, from the 201 in Maine, the 93 in New
Hampshire, the 91 in Vermont, the 87 from New York,
or the 417 from Ottawa. See our
maps page.
French is the main language in
Quebec, so when you come up to ride, you're really gonna get
the feeling that you are in another country, and that's what a
great holiday is all about. Don't worry though, you'll find ways
to communicate. With your pointing to the items on the menu, and
your waiter's broken English, you'll probably get your eggs 'over
easy', just the way you like 'em!
The culture and customs in Quebec
are different, for example, the snowmobile trail signs
are often in French, and the food in the small village 'casse
croutes' is totally different from the city, where yes, you can
still find Mc Donald's. Most importantly however, the snowmobile
trails are different. They are the hottest you've ever seen,
and they go on forever. A 200 mile day is the norm in this territory,
and some folks easily rack up over 300 without breaking a sweat.
The people you will meet in the snowmobile
motels and hotels, and on the trails, are very friendly
and accommodating, and their hospitality is second to none in
the snowmobile world. The snowmobile trail maps
are free in your motel room, and help you find gas for your sleds,
restaurants to warm up in, and excellent entertainment every where
you go.
For years now, you've been hearing
incredible stories from your buddies about their Quebec snowmobile
experiences; now is your chance to experience it all for yourself.
You won't be disappointed. The Mauricie
snowmobiling region has dozens of charming snowmobile
outfitters in small villages and towns throughout the forested
countryside, and luxurious five star hotels with relaxing whirlpools
and dining rooms to pamper you, in the middle of nowhere! You
can rough it when you come up with the boys, and then stay in
comfort when you bring the wife and family.
Snowmobiling in the Mauricie
has something for everyone. If you are a large inexperienced group,
don't worry, we have snowmobile tour guides ready to outfit you
with everything you need, including the helmets and warm clothing.
You can spend a day, a weekend, or a month, enjoying the Quebec
wildlife, smooth snowmobile trails, and old fashioned log
cabin retreats kept warm by wood stoves, deep in the woods.
Come up to the Mauricie with your
experienced snowmobile riders, and run the Mauricie river
to find out just what your sled can do, but don't push her too
hard for too long, or you'll blow the engine. It's been done more
than once! Don't worry though, your motel owner probably has a
rescue service, and he'll see to it that you get yourself back
to the warmth of the fireplace and the cozy lounge, safe and sound
in one piece.
Special Events in the Mauricie this Winter
Keep an eye on our snowmobile
events page because you won't want to miss the local snowmobile
action, like the international snowmobile racing that
takes place in Shawinigan's annual Grande Prix, February 18 to

the amateur races, and go home with a trophy to hang on the office
wall!Book
